Ecogastronomy Intensive in Italy -- magnifico!

What an impressive group. I am overwhelmed by the curiosity and interest, the good spirits and graciousness of these bright students. Gorgeous day in the Pacific Northwest, thinking of harvest

....inspired our flock of hens to produce the first egg.

....and between mid-June (last post) and now (stand by for a post-barrage), much has happened on the food front. Most recently, a berry farmer in Whatcom County is fined for labor violations. Stay posted for my rant on this one -- clearly showing that food and farm threats -- labor (and regulatory processes) -- deserve national-level attention.
